OverviewJob DescriptionPrepare future doctors for clinical practice and workforce readiness.Shape a curriculum that prepares graduates for clinical practiceChampion te Tiriti-led, culturally safe, and equitable medical educationAbout the roleThis is a rare opportunity to lead the final year of the Doctor of Medicine programme at the New Zealand Graduate School of Medicine (NZGSM) — the first new medical school in Aotearoa New Zealand in over 50 years.You will guide the Trainee Intern (TI) year, ensuring students are fully prepared for their transition into the New Zealand health workforce as PGY1 interns.
You will oversee the coordination of four ten-week rotations — medicine, surgery, selectives, and electives — and ensure students gain comprehensive experience across hospital, primary care, and rural settings.You will provide academic and clinical leadership, ensuring the Year 4 curriculum delivers excellence in teaching, cultural safety, and accreditation compliance.
Working with the Assessment Lead, you will oversee final-year assessments and support students in consolidating their professional and clinical competence.This is a 0.4 FTE, fixed-term role for 24 months, with competitive salary and benefits.For more information on the role please see the position description.

You hold a medical degree and are eligible for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ).
