Teacher & Team Leader - Y5–6

Overview

South New Brighton School is a fabulous place to teach and learn.

We are seeking a highly capable, experienced, and passionate teacher to lead our Y5–6 learning team.

About the role

Primary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Syndicate leader.

Subjects include English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The arts.

Responsibilities

Lead, coach, and inspire our Y5–6 learning team.

Build and maintain positive relationships across the whole school community.

Create and maintain strong systems, structures, and clear communication.

Commitment to inclusive learning and culturally responsive practices.

Maintain outstanding classroom practice with strong, current knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum, and assessment – particularly in literacy and mathematics.

This position includes 2 management units and allocated release time each term.

Requirements

NZ registered teacher.

Not suitable for beginning teachers.

Experience working collaboratively and a focus on the success of tamariki with a team-oriented approach.
