AOD Youth Residential Programme based in Burnside, Christchurch20 hours per week, rostered across Monday - Friday12-Month Fixed-Term ContractAftercare is a key role in our Youth Residential Service, working within the house and within the wider community to support our resident's journey to wellbeing.Odyssey House Christchurch has been providing drug and alcohol treatment programmes for 40 years.
Our Youth Residential programme offers a mix of clinical approaches including Maori and Pasifika concepts of health and wellbeing from a Therapeutic Community model.As part of our team, you will build upon the proud history of Odyssey in Canterbury and ensure Aftercare services meet clients' needs in the current world.Key Responsibilities : Hold a caseload of Aftercare clients, which you will check in regularly with.Support the residential programme through facilitating groups to support reintegration and living skillsDevelop robust community supports, attending appointments with clients and linking them with other agencies.Have one on one and whanau meetings to ensure transition challenges are being overcomeBuild relationships with whaiora so that tailored aftercare plans can be created.Requirements : A level 4 health qualification preferably endorsed in mental health and addictions or be willing to work towards thisSkills in group delivery and individual interventionsExcellent professional judgement and strong boundariesExcellent time management skills to juggle multiple tasksAbility to laugh and have fun with the young peopleFull Drivers LicenceA high level of understanding of tikanga Maori and its importance within this settingWe are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates.
