OverviewOdyssey House Christchurch and Purapura Whetu work together providing holistic health and wellbeing programs within a multi-disciplinary team to support tangata whaiora affected by problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use challenges.

We are looking for an Aftercare Worker to join our service based at Rolleston Men's Prison.As an Aftercare Clinician, you will join a team of clinical and peer support staff, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to working with our client group.

You will juggle your time working with tangata whaiora inside the prison, and tangata whaiora and whanau in the community, managing a varied and busy workload.In this role, you will beDelivering education and therapeutic groups within the prisonFacilitating aftercare conversations and groups both inside and outside the prisonWorking one on one with clients and whanau where appropriateSupporting a multi disciplinary team of clinical and peer support work staffQualifications / requirementsHold a qualification in Social Work, OT, Counselling or Mental Health and AddictionsHold a registration with an allied health profession such as Social Work, OT, NZAC, DAPAANZ etc. (or working towards)Have good organizational skillsBe a team playerA good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and knowledge of tikanga Maori / Te ReoA non-judgmental approach to working with tangata whaioraYou will be part of a dedicated team working across prison sites, and a valued member of the wider Odyssey and Purapura Whetu whanau.We provide ongoing training opportunities, and relocation support is available.Applications close 5pm Thursday 6th November and will be processed as they are received.Application questionsDo you have the legal right to work in NZ (e.g. citizenship, residency or permit)?
