Machinery Operator

We are a family-owned horticultural business seeking two Machinery Operators to join our team.

Key attributes :

• Practical, reliable and efficient;
• Skilled in the safe and efficient operation of orchard-based machinery and equipment;
• Able to pass a drug / alcohol test;
• Holds a clean drivers licence;
• Holds a Forklift certificate (preferable);

Holds a Growsafe certificate (preferable).

Responsibilities :

Communicating with the Operations Manager and Orchard Manager on a daily basis to plan, prioritise and assign work tasks.

Ensuring that all assigned tasks are undertaken in a manner that is safe, efficient and compliant.

Reporting any issues with machinery and / or equipment to the Orchard Manager.

Ensuring that the orchard is kept clean, tidy and is a safe working environment.

Duties / tasks : Mowing / mulching

Crop spraying

Weed spraying

Groundwork

Harvest driver / Supervisor

Forklift operation (during harvest)

Other general orchard duties as required.

Reporting all near misses, hazards and incidents.

These are Fixed-Term positions (45 hours / week; Monday - Friday; 7am-4pm) which may lead to permanent roles and are based in Tapora, North Auckland.
