The role is heavily analytical focused around electricity market modelling, forecasting and software testing working in a complex and changing energy environment.This role offers a wide scope of responsibilities, and opens up opportunities within the company for career progression.Key responsibilities of the role include : Develop an in-depth understanding of the wholesale electricity market and related marketsDevelop, support and maintain complex modelling & forecastingData analysis, manipulation and software testingProvide clients with timely and accurate market informationAbout the successful candidate : Energy markets are changing at greater rates than ever before – the candidate will join a market leading company and play an integral part in the future success of the business.The candidate market for experienced electricity modelers and forecasters is very small so the organisation is used to training people from the ground up from a diverse range of backgrounds.

There are clear overlaps between the fields of economics, finance, software, engineering and physics in this position.The forecasting and modelling is very complex with a wide range of inputs affecting it.

Advanced excel, data analysis and IT skills are a must.
