At Pasta Vera, we’re a New Zealand-owned food manufacturer making fresh pasta, sauces, pestos, lasagnes, and ready meals. We are a zero-food-waste business with a strong focus on quality, teamwork, and improvement.
We’re looking for reliable, hands-on people to join our production team in two roles :
- Flexible Machine Operator – available to work across any shift, covering other roles when staff are on leave.
- Morning Shift Machine Operator or Process Worker – permanent role on the day shift, working with our pasta and sauce lines.
About the Role
Our shifts normally run Monday to Thursday , giving you long weekends most weeks with three days off in a row . From time to time, a Friday shift may be required, so you’ll need to be available if needed – but most weeks you’ll enjoy a regular four-day working week with plenty of time off.
Flexible Machine Operator
You’ll be cross-trained across all areas — pasta, sauce, and packing — and step in wherever needed to keep production running smoothly. Rosters are provided at least one week in advance, and you’ll receive full training to operate all machines on site.
Morning Shift Machine Operator or Process Worker
This is a steady day-shift role for someone who enjoys routine and teamwork. You’ll operate or support production lines, follow recipes, pack products, and help keep everything running safely and efficiently.
Shift times include :
Afternoon Shift : 2 : 00 pm – 10 : 30 pmNight Shift : 10 : 00 pm – 6 : 30 amWhat You’ll Do
Set up, operate, and clean down a range of machines across pasta, sauce, and packing linesTroubleshoot and keep production running smoothlyPerform in-process QA / QC checks and record results in Aspect / Smart VeraComplete changeovers, cleaning, and basic maintenance (CIL tasks)Step into Process Worker or packing support roles when requiredKeep work areas safe, tidy, and audit-readyWhat You’ll Need
Experience in food or factory work (2+ years preferred for Machine Operators)Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skillsWorking knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and H&S proceduresReliable, adaptable, and comfortable moving between shifts and rolesAble to follow instructions, stay organised, and work as part of a teamPhysically fit for standing shifts, lifting up to 20 kg, and working in hot / cold environmentsHow to Apply
