Also as part of our recruitment process you must satisfy a pre-employment medical, drug test and a Ministry of Justice check.We are searching for an experienced Class 5 Truck Driver to join our freight team based at Waitohi Wharf, Picton.

You must be able to do shift work, and work some weekends and public holidays to be considered for the role as we are a 24 / 7 operation.In this key role you will contribute to the loading and discharging of freight / cargo, heavy machinery, truck and trailers, semis, b-trains on and off the vessel at the request of the Load Mate.Helping you understand the port environment is all part of the on-the-job training offered and we'll also provide support getting your Dangerous Goods (DG) and F endorsements, if required.We're looking for someone who : Has an excellent work ethic and attendance recordIs punctual, reliable, honest and positiveWorks in a safe and efficient manner and will comply with company policies and proceduresCan follow instructions and take directionWorks well in a diverse team environmentOf course, there are a few technical requirements which are important to have : A Class 5 licence and a clean and safe driving record.Experience driving B trains, Semis and Truck and TrailersExcellent backing skillsStrong customer service and excellent communication skillsPerks for being in this role : A competitive hourly rateA chance to get out of the cab and stay activeRegular generous breaksNo traffic congestion or on road travel to worry aboutFull uniform / PPE providedMinimal paperworkPotential for extra shifts and hoursOther employee benefits : Southern cross Health Insurance - RegularCareAnnual well-being allowanceSuperannuation scheme - employee contribution match of up to 8%Discounted travel for you, family and friends!
