Auckland Council’s ICT team is seeking a System Architect – Data Services to join our Architecture Practice and play a key role in delivering and enhancing our Modern Data Platform. As a senior member of the Data Services Agile Release Train (Data ART), you will help shape the architectural runway, ensuring scalable and fit-for-purpose data solutions that enable analytics, integration, and data science across the organisation. This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role where you will partner closely with engineers, tech leads, and agile teams to bring architecture to life.

About you

He kōrero mōu : About you You are a practical architect who thrives on delivery and turning designs into working solutions.

• Experience as a System Architect, Solution Architect, or Architect in cloud data environments
• Experience with modern cloud-based data platforms
• Understanding of data pipelines, APIs, and modern data platform design
• Exposure to BI, analytics, and data science platforms
• Familiarity with modern engineering practices including Infrastructure as Code, version control, and CI / CD for data solutions
• Strong collaboration skills to partner with engineers, tech leads, and stakeholders
• Experience working in Agile or SAFe delivery environments
