OverviewWe are seeking engaging, innovative teachers who have strong communication skills and are collaborative team players.
This is a permanent, full-time role working in mainstream schools and other specialist schools to support DHH students, whanau, and school staff / teams.ResponsibilitiesEngage with your assigned caseload, maintain related records, and liaise with families and whanau to support student participation and success in education and life outcomes.Apply best practices and experience when working with Deaf children and / or mainstream children.Collaborate with school teams to support DHH learners, including planning and delivering appropriate instruction and support.QualificationsQualified Teacher of the Deaf or an experienced NZ registered teacher.Current, clean drivers' licence with use of own car (mileage reimbursed with conditions).
Existing skills or willingness to develop proficiency in New Zealand Sign Language (NZSL) and in listening and spoken language practices for DHH learners.Recent practical experience with the early levels of the New Zealand Curriculum.RequirementsProven best practice and experience working with Deaf children and / or with mainstream children.Ability to work in mainstream and specialist settings as part of a collaborative team.ApplicationPlease apply online at applicants who are legally entitled to work in New Zealand will be considered.
