Position : Teacher Aide

Location : Wakatipu High School (Otago, New Zealand)

Start Date : 21 January 2026

Hours : 31 hours 15 minutes per week (08 : 45 to 15 : 30 including a 30‑minute unpaid break, Monday to Friday, term‑time only)

Salary : NZ$28.85 per hour (Support Staff in Schools’ Collective Agreement, Teacher Aide Salary Scale Grade BC4)

Key Responsibilities

• Work with students (one‑to‑one or in small groups) who present with behavioural or learning differences, both in mainstream classes and off‑site as required.
• Support classroom teachers or off‑site staff by working with targeted students in their mainstream class or off‑site.
• Use agreed strategies with off‑site staff or classroom teachers to manage student behaviour.
• Work with students and peers to boost learning, independence and social skills.
• Liaise with the classroom teacher to ensure the best support for targeted students.
• Perform other reasonably requested duties as required.
