Wa Ora Montessori School is an Area School based in Lower Hutt, Wellington, catering for approximately 300 children and is the only Montessori School in New Zealand that nurtures the child from 0 to 18 years.

We are a community-based school with close connections to our whanau (families).

We are seeking a part-time physics teacher to join our friendly and collaborative high school teaching team.

You will love working in an innovative and adaptive programme that responds to the needs of this age and be excited by the opportunity to develop strong relationships with highly engaged rangatahi in Y8–13 (12 to 18-year-olds).

Requirements :

Current New Zealand teacher registration

The legal right to work in New Zealand

Extensive subject knowledge of the physics curriculum

Prior experience teaching at a high school level

Experience teaching NCEA to Level 3.

Hours :

Additional 2.5 hrs are possible dependent on the applicant's skills if applicable to teach general technology / digital technology.

This is a possible 16 hrs total (0.64 FTTE).

A willingness and ability to take part in the special instruction and education appropriate to the Special Character of our school is also a condition of appointment.

If successful, you will be required to undergo Montessori training through a 4 to 5-week programme overseas, which will be sponsored by the school in return for a bonded period (approx 2yrs).
