Job description

Learning Partner (6 month maternity leave cover)

LIC is New Zealand’s leading agri-tech cooperative, supporting the dairy industry for over a century through cutting-edge genetics, technology products, and a commitment to empowering farmers with sustainable, profitable solutions. We are seeking a talented Learning Partner to join our Organisational Development team on a 6-month fixed-term maternity leave cover contract.

About the role

Reporting to the Organisational Development and Talent Manager, the Learning Partner plays a key role in supporting LIC’s organisational development journey. You will work closely with leaders and team members across the business to deliver effective learning and development solutions, enabling our people to grow and succeed in their roles. As a trusted advisor, the Learning Partner collaborates with internal stakeholders to design, deliver, and evaluate learning initiatives in line with business strategies, and supports the full cycle of development programmes. You will act as a champion for best-practice learning, building capability and fostering a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in partnership with leaders to identify learning needs aligned to business objectives.
  • Design and deliver a range of learning solutions, including blended, online, and face-to-face training.
  • Coordinate and facilitate learning sessions, workshops, and onboarding programmes.
  • Monitor, evaluate and report on the impact of development initiatives, providing recommendations to increase effectiveness.
  • Work with external training providers and vendors to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
  • Support the maintenance of learning platforms, content updates, and learner engagement.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in our approach to talent development.

About You

  • Proven experience in learning and development, learning advisory, or organisational development roles.
  • Strong facilitation and coaching skills, with the ability to engage audiences at all levels.
  • Experience designing and delivering blended learning solutions in a commercial environment.
  • Excellent relationship management, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data and feedback to inform learning and development recommendations.
  • Curious, innovative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development.
  • Experience using LMS or digital learning platforms is an advantage.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Education, Psychology, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Working at LIC – Benefits and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Be part of a collaborative, supportive and innovative team environment.
  • Flexible working options, including hybrid working to suit your lifestyle.
  • Onsite facilities at our Hamilton campus – café, pool, tennis court and more.
  • Build your experience and make a meaningful impact in NZ’s agri-tech sector.
  • This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the growth and development of LIC’s people during an exciting time of transformation and innovation. Join us and bring your expertise to a business with a proud heritage and a compelling vision for the future.

Apply now and tell us about the skills, experience, and energy you would bring to our People & Performance team.

We look forward to hearing more about your aspirations and learning goals at LIC.
