About the Role

The successful candidate will :

• Provide comprehensive orthopaedic care; including consultation, diagnosis and management of general orthopaedic, trauma and arthroplasty patients.
• Perform surgical interventions with precision and a commitment to patient safety.
• Participate in the on-call roster to manage acute orthopaedic emergencies.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
• Engage in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the department's clinical governance.
• Provide teaching and mentorship to junior doctors and medical students.
• Stay up to date with advancements in orthopaedic care and bring innovative practices to the department.

About the Team / Service / Location

Our orthopaedic team offers a mix of elective and acute orthopaedic surgery.

Our team fosters a supportive and collaborative environment, with an emphasis on continuous professional development, teaching, and multidisciplinary care.

Our service is supported by a team of orthopaedic surgeons, registrars, house officers, , physiotherapists, and anaesthetic and theatre teams committed to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

Taranaki Hospital is seeking a dedicated and experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon to join our dynamic and collaborative team.

Taranaki Base Hospital is a secondary level facility, with modern infrastructure and opportunities to contribute to ongoing clinical service development.
