The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Assistant in the Human Potential Translational Research Programme (HPTRP), Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
The HPTRP aims to bring together researchers from a wide range of disciplines with an interest to maximise human potential.
In HPTRP, focusing only on human studies, we aim to adopt a holistic perspective that considers human potential as an integrative measure of health, productivity, performance, human capital and overall well-being over the lifespan, in our environment.
Appointments will be made on a one-year contract, with the possibility of one-year extension.
Purpose of the post
The Research Assistant will work closely with our collaborator's Biobank Team.
The RA's principal role will be to work in general practices of biosample transporting, processing, storage, data entry and other tasks as assigned by Reporting Officer.
Main duties and responsibilities
Process a wide range of biosamples, including but not limited to blood and stool.
Provide and maintain accurate laboratory records and data.
Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures in accordance with the laboratory SOPs.
Maintain the highest standard of professional conduct and record keeping in accordance with SOPs.
Perform laboratory housekeeping as assigned.
Work at 3 sites on a scheduled roster.
Work on weekends as required.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Reporting Officer.
Qualifications
Educational background : Bachelor's degree in biomedical science, life science or a related discipline, or 1 year of relevant work experience.
Proven laboratory experience with demonstrated competence in pipetting techniques.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Capacity to work independently and collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
A strong desire for continuous learning and professional growth.
Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications and experience.
