Research Assistant – Dr. Koji Itahana, Duke-NUS
The laboratory of Dr. Koji Itahana within the Signature Research Programme in Cancer and Stem Cell Biology (CSCB) at Duke-NUS is recruiting a Research Assistant with strong enthusiasm and interest in tumor suppression. The KI lab’s scientific focus is to understand the diverse roles of p53 in tumor suppression and cancer metabolism. Dr Itahana’s laboratory uses a wide range of state‑of‑the‑art molecular biology techniques and investigates the mechanisms underlying cancer development.
Responsibilities
- Perform tasks and support all aspects of the research project.
- Conduct accurate monitoring, documenting and reporting of experimental results and research findings.
- Evaluate and interpret collected data and prepare oral presentations or written reports, scientific manuscripts, literature for publication and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends and appropriate recommendations or conclusions.
- Contribute to some project management, provision of guidance to undergraduate / medical students.
- Assist with general upkeep of laboratory needs, maintain safety protocols, provide technical support and establish work procedures to ongoing research projects.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Molecular Biology, or related field.Demonstrated basic knowledge, skills and expertise in supporting various research activities.Knowledge of the scientific background relevant to the research area.Laboratory experimental skills.A strong team player who is open‑minded, energetic, highly motivated and can work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team and diverse workforce.Additional Information
