Senior Network Communication Specialist (Real-time)
We are seeking a Senior Network Communication Specialist to develop and deliver communication strategies and plans to ensure customers can confidently navigate the transport network.

- Manage and update real-time content in digital channels including the AT Mobile app, AT and NZTA Journey Planner websites, social media pages, Google Maps, digital motorway signs.
- Based in Takapuna – Auckland Transport Operations Centre
- Mainly office hours Mon-Fri with some early morning, late evening and weekend work required.
Our Network Communications - Real Time team is responsible for communicating transport changes and disruption through digital channels to ensure customers can confidently navigate the transport network.

Key Responsibilities Include
Providing communication support in a major incident or emergency.Constantly improving communication channels, and more strategic work to improve outcomes for customers.Taking a leadership role in the team to coach and mentor others and support them through changes and improvements.Create and publish content for web, apps, social media and digital network signage.Work with the marketing, events and creative teams to assess and improve how we design / deliver signs, wayfinding, social media and in-station campaigns about upcoming events or changes on the network.Collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders to identify impacted customers, communities, and external stakeholders, assess risks and develop relevant plans.Work collaboratively with and influence comms and engagement colleagues across the organisation.Support the organisation with rapid response to issues or urgent requests, including drafting communications materials.Review and approve travel / network related communications drafted by other teams / contractors.About You
To be successful you will bring extensive experience in marketing, communications, events, digital content, or a similar field such as journalism, emergency / incident or other real-time communications.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly in the fast and accurate preparation and issue of communications and media management.Calm under pressure – able to respond on your feet and prioritise effectively, in a changing situation.Digital savvy – able to use and manage various digital platforms and systems and understand how to improve them.Strong understanding of media, political, community and reputational environment.Excellent relationship management skills, and be able to proactively build strategic and trusted relationships.Planning and prioritisation, able to establish and lead projects through to completion independently.A collaborative working style, able to work as part of a team and within a wider matrix structure.You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public service.
