Job OverviewBathurst Resources, New Zealand's largest coal-specialist mining company, is seeking a Health and Safety Coordinator to support our Health & Safety Superintendent.About Bathurst : We produce over 2.2 million tonnes of coal each year and proudly employ over 550 people.
Our high-quality, thermal-grade coal fuels are used to help drive the engines of many iconic food and dairy businesses.The Rotowaro coalfield and opencast mine is located 10km west of Huntly, with accessible city and beach life.
We maintain a strong health and safety focus and welcome you to join our team.ResponsibilitiesThe Health and Safety Coordinator will support our Health & Safety Superintendent to ensure all mining and related activities are carried out in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Mining and Quarrying Operations Regulations 2016.
Key responsibilities include : Coordination and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Management SystemEvaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of site occupational health and safety activitiesManagement of OHS system standards / procedures and monitoring of mine contractorsRequirementsThe ideal applicant will have : Experience in a similar position and a formal qualification in Health and Safety (or willingness to study towards one)A Full New Zealand driver's license without restrictionsAbsolute commitment to health and safetyStrong understanding of relevant H&S legislation and preference for previous Mining experienceDemonstrable experience in Risk ManagementExcellent verbal and written communication skillsRelevant tertiary qualification (or working towards one)We offer market competitive pay, an excellent team environment, opportunity for career growth, and awesome benefits for you and your family.Equal Employment Opportunity : Bathurst Resources is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates.
