About the Role
We have a permanent part time opportunity within our Southern team for a Registered Nurse, Contact Tracer (Sexual Health).
The primary purpose of the Contract Tracing Nurse role is to lead HIV, syphilis and other sexually transmitted infectious diseases contact tracing efforts in collaboration with the clinical team.
This involves but is not limited to running sexual health clinics, providing proactive outreach, clinical follow-up, and strong relationship-building with primary care providers, community services, and regional partners.

Our Public Health Nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga / wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

About you
As a successful candidate, you will show and understand the importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and are skilled in applying its principles effectively in your role.

You are able to utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.
