Principal Planner – NZ Transport Agency Waka Kotahi

Join the NZ Transport Agency team as a Principal Planner, leading technical planning and consenting across major New Zealand transport projects.

Location

Ideally based in Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch. Other NZTA office locations may be considered for the right candidate. Applications from other areas may also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review consenting workstreams across major NZ projects, setting strategies and statutory application plans.
• Provide expert input into community and stakeholder engagement plans with local authorities, developers, iwi and other stakeholders.
• Mentor team members and promote innovation and best practice across planning teams.
• Ensure compliance with relevant legislation and internal processes.
• Represent NZTA at hearings, mediations and other forums for resource consent applications and statutory approvals.
