Volunteer Role : KnowYourStuffNZ Drug-Testing Clinics
At KnowYourStuffNZ drug-testing clinics, our volunteers play a vital role in supporting our clients and promoting harm reduction.
As a volunteer you will contribute your time by :
Welcoming clients and helping them feel at ease
Assisting with sample intake
Participating in sample analysis
Providing results alongside experienced volunteers
Engaging in harm reduction conversations
You'll be warmly welcomed and supported throughout your volunteering journey by :

Requirements :
Awareness and understanding of the importance of drug harm reduction, with a genuine enthusiasm for supporting safer, healthier communities.
Comfort with having respectful, informative, empathetic conversations about drugs and harm reduction
An inclusive approach – we welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, including people with lived experience of taking drugs, as we are part of the communities we serve
Time commitment :
Our onboarding training starts with two sessions :
Wednesday 1 October, 6–8pm (Zoom)
Tuesday 7 October, 6–8pm (Zoom)
Total : 4 hours
Clinic shifts :
Run 2–3 times a month in Hamilton and Raglan
Each shift lasts about 2–3 hours
