Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.

ABOUT THE ROLE :

Based on-site at Rocket Lab\'s Auckland, NZ facility, the Mechatronics Engineer AI is responsible for developing impactful AI solutions, designing scalable prototypes, and integrating AI with mechanical and electrical systems. You\'ll join a collaborative team running rapid experiments to identify the most promising AI use cases, while developing robust, scalable infrastructure that supports the whole organization to leverage AI.

WHAT YOU\'LL GET TO DO :

• Design and develop mechatronic systems integrated with AI algorithms and automation logics
• Conduct rigorous testing of hardware-software integrations and iterate based on insights gained from data
• Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to design, develop, test, and deploy AI-enabled mechatronic systems
• Design and deploy machine learning models to enhance integrated mechatronic systems
• Build and maintain robust in-house AI infrastructure and data pipelines for seamless system integration
