Overview
Griffin’s Snacks, New Zealand’s largest snack food company, produces a large range of iconic kiwi brands. We are looking for a seasoned Senior Project Manager on a fixed-term contract until around March 2028, based at our Wiri manufacturing site in South Auckland, where we produce chips and bars (including Snackachangi, ETA Ripples and Nice & Natural). This role leads site capital investment projects with accountability for project planning, execution and delivery, and management of internal and external stakeholders. You will provide strategic guidance at the outset and throughout the project, manage budgets and timelines, and coordinate contractors to deliver safe, on-time, and within-budget project outcomes that drive operational efficiency.
What you’ll be responsible for
- Delivering the agreed project scope on time, to budget and to the required specification
- Leading, coaching and engaging a team of 4 direct reports
- Stakeholder management with effective collaboration and clear communication among all internal and external project stakeholders
- Ensuring project direction and goals are aligned with operational needs, managing milestones and timelines while integrating project outcomes into business operations
- Monitoring and controlling project scope, objectives and interdependencies, with risk management and mitigation
- Setting and maintaining project governance structures
- Delivering capital works including procurement, construction and commissioning
- Championing a safety culture by leading by example and ensuring compliance with company and legislative requirements
What you’ll bring to the role
Degree-qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or related technical field12+ years’ experience managing complex, high-value capital projects in FMCG, food, beverage, or process manufacturing environmentsProven experience leading complicated capital projects, including cross-functional teams and contractorsStrong understanding of construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and validation processesProactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a strategic project-driven approachAbility to balance multiple priorities across projects, stakeholders and business objectivesExcellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex project information to stakeholders at all levelsProven negotiation and influencing capabilities, using diplomacy and persuasive communicationProven ability to influence and engage stakeholders to drive cultural and organisational changeWhat can you expect in return
