Overview
We\'re partnering with a leading ASX-listed FMCG manufacturing business to recruit for a permanent Production Manager role based in Timaru, New Zealand. The role is responsible for the efficient and timely processes and output of production, overseeing planning, coordination and control to meet production KPI\'s related to quantity and cost. You will report to the Site Manager and lead a production team of approximately 30 across a 24 / 5 shift operation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with WHS legislation and internal safety systems, including hazard reporting and incident management
- Promote a strong safety culture through proper PPE use, risk control, and safe work practices
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions
- Maintain accurate SOPs and ensure staff are trained and competent
- Oversee performance management, training plans, and resolve conduct issues
- Manage plant operations, resources, and shutdowns to meet output targets efficiently
- Analyse performance and drive process improvements in energy, waste, and product quality
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support customer satisfaction
- Meet operational KPIs including OEE, throughput, and delivery targets
- Support budgeting and capital planning activities
- Drive team development through coaching and targeted training
Qualifications
Proven experience leading, managing, and developing teams in a production environmentSkilled in production planning, control, and performance measurementStrong knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation and standardsExperienced in implementing and working with safety and quality management systemsHolds a Certificate IV in Management or equivalent relevant training; strong leadership and people management skillsEffective communicator with solid interpersonal skills, organised, methodical, and results-focusedProficient in MS Office and general computingTrained in Continuous Improvement methodologies (e.g. LEAN)What\'s on Offer
