Then this could be the position for you.As part of our ongoing commitment to inspiring students and communities to succeed, UCOL is seeking a highly motivated lecturer or suitably qualified professional to deliver our NZC Construction Trade Skills (Carpentry) L3 programmes.This is a fixed-term position, 40 hours / week.
The successful candidate will be a qualified carpenter with a minimum of a National / NZ Certificate in Carpentry or equivalent qualification and ideally ten (10) years of current industry experience.
It would be a strong advantage if you were an LBP and also held the NZ Certificate in Adult Literacy & Numeracy Education (NZCALNE), the NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (NZCAT), or equivalent, and unit 4098 work-based assessor; however, these are not requirements.This position, based at Freyberg High School in Palmerston North, will require you to be hands-on, facilitating one-on-one learning, mentoring, motivating, and working with students individually.
Your well-tuned rapport and communication skills will be essential.
You will work with a dynamic team and have the full support of the Academic Portfolio Manager, with all delivery resources and practical assessments fully developed.
You will support and supervise students' building projects, including a 2-bed house.We want your energy, creativity, passion, and intelligence.
