Starting salary : $118,609 - $160,471 + KiwiSaver.

The role | Te tūnga

This is a permanent role based in Wellington or Christchurch reporting to the Head of ICT Architecture. You will be part of a team supporting our “Deliver 2030” transformative Programme which includes Census, Monthly Consumer Price Index (CPI) Measuring a Modern Economy (MME), and Integrated Data for Social Investment.

Your responsibility will be to produce high-level and target-state data architecture designs, including fit-gap analyses across data platforms, systems, and integration layers. You will lead data technology selection and integration planning, ensuring that data strategies are aligned with business goals and consistent with Stats NZ’s ICT architecture guidance.

You will provide technical leadership across multiple initiatives, bringing a strategic, enterprise-wide view of data architecture. This includes advising on data modelling, governance, quality, and interoperability to support sustainable and scalable data solutions.
