The LSC plays a key role in ensuring every student can access the curriculum and thrive.
You will work collaboratively with staff, whanau, outside agencies, and the Ministry of Education to coordinate support for students with additional learning needs.
Key responsibilities
Identify and coordinate support for students with diverse learning needs, including academic, behavioural, social, and emotional
Work collaboratively to devise and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Work alongside classroom teachers and our learning support team to build their capability in inclusive practices and differentiated teaching
Assist learning assistants to create appropriate resources tailored to meeting the needs of diverse learners
Liaise with parents / caregivers, external specialists, and agencies to ensure seamless support
Assess student progress and implement intervention programmes that target specific barriers to learning – monitor and measure the impact of these
Contribute to a positive, inclusive school culture
About you
A registered and qualified teacher (NZ teacher registration essential)
Demonstrates proven experience in working with students with learningsupport needs
The ability to form effective collaborative relationships within our LS team and senior staff across school
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster positive relationships with staff, students, and whanau
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
Committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice.
