As the Head of External Relations and Communications, you'll shape how the FMA connects and engages with the world around us.
This is a strategic leadership role where you'll lead and guide how we show up, ensuring our voice, relationships and delivery all contribute to achieving our organisational outcomes.
You'll lead our approach to external engagement across government, media, and key stakeholder relationships, ensuring we're connected, credible, and proactive in how we communicate and collaborate.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include :
Leading the development of external relations and communications strategies that align with the FMA's strategic priorities and long-term goals.
Providing strong strategic leadership to enhance the FMA's reputation and relationships through proactive, clear, confident, and well-informed communication.
Building and nurturing influential partnerships that drive the right behaviours and outcomes across the financial sector.
Strengthening engagement and collaboration with key stakeholders, including through the Council of Financial Regulators (CoFR) to make a positive systemic impact across the financial system.
Qualifications
You bring :
Deep expertise in communications and external relations, with strong networks and experience in strategy and delivery to achieve results.
Political acumen and proven experience navigating Government and regulatory landscapes.
Outstanding strategic communication skills, with the ability to develop strategic messaging, and engage and influence across different audiences and channels.
A creative and innovative mindset, balanced with a strong focus on delivery and results.
Leadership experience through managing teams and leading significant, high-impact projects, with a passion for coaching and developing others.
Sound judgement, professionalism, and resilience under pressure.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to deliver high-quality work to tight time-frames.
