About the Role
We are looking for someone who has had great training and experience, who is an outstanding communicator, who can join with amazing colleagues and see the true value of working within a multi-disciplinary team in Palmerston North.
We need someone who meets with a family and young person and draws on their strengths and not just their 'illness', who works alongside them to achieve mutual goals, is able to be compassionate when things don't go to plan and able to help a family reset.
It's imperative that you have a good sense of humour and are able to enjoy the team.
We know we are asking for a lot but feel that the right person with the right attitude is key.

We provide comprehensive out-patient based services with ever growing outreach into the community.
Our services include :
Duty / crisis intervention service within a dedicated Intake team
Community liaison
Outreach clinics (in Tararua)
Small service in Horowhenua
Eating disorder team
Growing group program (DBT, ALERT, Yoga & boxing, Emotional regulation skills group for parents)
Various therapies (DBT, CBT, ACT, child Psychotherapy, Family therapy)
We have a really well functioning and supportive team here in the CAFMHS service and we want someone who will add to that culture.
We have a commitment to continuing medical education and professional development and our peer review group is enrolled with the maintenance of professional standards programme of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists.
We are recognised by the College for registrar training.
