  • As a Social Worker specialising in Disability and Older Persons, your responsibility is to provide outstanding care and support to older individuals and tāngata whaikaha Māori / disabled people, along with their whānau, within a social model of practice.You will serve communities across the Hawke's Bay, Manawatū, and Whanganui regions, with travel and accommodation covered where required.Your duties encompass collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team, conducting assessments, delivering interventions and evaluations, and making appropriate referrals to other agencies. Your engagement will extend to tāngata whaikaha Māori / disabled people, older persons, their whānau, and key agencies to access support and specialist services during their time in prison and upon reintegrating into the community. You will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and evaluating Mātauranga Māori practices aligned with Hōkai Rangi and progressing our .

  • You will need a Social Work qualification recognised by the Social Workers Registration Board NZ, with a preference for candidates holding a post-graduate degree in mental health.
  • It's crucial that you possess an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and can effectively navigate a Māori cultural setting. Your experience in utilising trauma-informed practice models and working with at-risk patients will be instrumental in this position.
  • Your role will require the ability to make sound professional judgments tailored to individual circumstances. Building effective working relationships with a diverse range of people to achieve work goals is a key aspect of success in this role.

  • The full salary range is $82,886 - $102,194.
