      About the Team / Service

      We are the Health NZ Te Whatu Ora – Waikato provider arm of ICAMHS in central Hamilton.

      We provide specialist services for children / tamariki and adolescents / rangatahi who are experiencing serious mental health difficulties and have a strong emphasis on family / whanau involvement in the recovery journey.

      As a community-based service, we are open Monday to Friday

      About Hamilton

      Waikato Hospital is a major regional hospital in Hamilton and is a leading tertiary teaching hospital located in Hamilton, New Zealand, serving as the regional hub for the Midland area, which includes the Waikato, Bay of Plenty, Lakes, Tairawhiti, and Taranaki districts.

      With around 722 inpatient beds, 22 operating theatres, and a dedicated outpatient clinic and procedure centre, Waikato Hospital provides comprehensive hospital services, including radiology, laboratory, and pharmacy.

      As a major teaching hospital with affiliations to the University of Auckland, University of Waikato, and Wintec, it offers a dynamic learning environment and access to research opportunities.

      About you

      Skills and experience you'll need to be considered for the role :

    • A Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand
    • A versatile and flexible clinician who has a passion for working as part of a team
    • A person who is excited about and willing to contribute participate in service enhancement
