Permanent Full time 44 hours per week

About the Role

Key responsibilities :

Provide quality clinical services to tamariki, rangatahi and their whanau within Te Whatu Ora Waikato boundariesAs a clinical expert, you will ensure that the appropriate and current knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the area of psychiatry, are applied to clinical situations and team decision makingParticipate in clinical partnership to ensure that tangata whaiora and their whanau receive integrated, appropriate, effective, and efficient assessment and careClick here to view the position description.

About the Team / Service

We are the Mental Health and Addictions Service arm of Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato.

Puawai Regional Forensic Mental Health Service supports people with moderate to severe mental illness whove had contact with the justice system across Te Manawa Taki.

We provide secure inpatient careacute, sub-acute, rehabilitation, and transition wardsand community services to courts, prisons (Waikeria, Springhill, Tongariro), and tangata whaiora.

We work closely with Adult Services to ensure smooth transitions between inpatient and community settings.

Skills and experience youll need to be considered for the role :

A Psychiatrist who is vocationally registered or eligible for vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.A versatile and flexible clinician who has a passion for working as part of a teamA person who is excited about and willing to contribute participate in service enhancementA clinician who is passionate about eliminating health inequities
