Mechanical Fitter (To Be Based On Malaysia)

Overview

Mechanical Fitter position based in Malaysia.

This role will be based at our production plant in Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia.

Our facility in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia spans 51,000 square meters of covered shop floor and employs over 900 full-time staff.

We are currently looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Mechanical Fitter to join our team in the construction of new boats.

Responsibilities

Interpret and work from technical drawings, schematics, specifications and manuals.

Fit, align, and assemble mechanical components and systems onboard new boats under construction.

Install engines, pumps, gearboxes, shafts, rudders, and other propulsion and mechanical systems.

Diagnose faults and carry out corrective actions.

Work closely with the supervisor and other team members to ensure project deadlines are met.

Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.

Complete job reports and documentation as required.

Qualifications

Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or equivalent.

Proven experience in marine, shipbuilding, or heavy industry (new build experience preferred).

Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems, including propulsion, fuel, water, and hydraulic systems.

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.

Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.

Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Working Conditions

Full-time position, working 5 days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m.

Must be willing to relocate to Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
