• One year Graduate Midwifery Programme
• 0.8 FTE (32 hours per week) permanent rostered rotating shifts
• Conversational Interviews to be held week of 17th November

• Aboutthe Role
• Weare seeking New Graduate Midwives to join us and work collegially within ourskilled and friendly multi-disciplinary teams as we work in partnership withour local Lead Maternity Carer's to assess, plan, implement and evaluate healthcare for the mothers and babies of the Waitaha region. OurNew Graduate midwifery program offers you professional developmentopportunities and enables you to develop your midwifery skills within asupportive environment. You will rotate between birthing suite and theantenatal / postnatal ward at Christchurch Women's Hospital. There may also beopportunities to gain experience within one of our outstanding whānau centredCommunity Birthing Units or women's outpatients service. With our Trans-alpineagreement, you could also have the opportunity to work with our Te Tai oPoutini teams on the picturesque West Coast of the South Island.Weare one of the largest tertiary units in New Zealand and supported by ourCommunity Birthing Units, we provide whānau centred support and care forover 5,500 births annually.This is a fantastic opportunity to becomepart of a highly skilled and professional multi-disciplinary team that allowsyou to utilise your enthusiasm and passion for women's health within asupportive and professional environment.Joinus and embrace evidence-based practice to provide safe, high quality midwiferycare and celebrate the key role midwives have in partnership with women topromote maternal and infant health and wellbeing.
• About You
• You are a newly graduated midwife eagerto begin your professional journey with curiosity, and excited to apply yourmidwifery knowledge. You are registered with the Midwifery Councilof New Zealand, and are enrolled in the Midwifery First Year of PracticeYoubring :
• A commitment to learning and growthas you transition from competent to confident practitioner.
• An understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its importance in shaping equitable and culturally safe maternity care.
• A passion for providing mana-enhancing care that respects the diverse backgrounds and needs of wāhine, pēpi, and whānau.
• A willingness to work collaboratively in a busy, supportive environment, where you'll be guided by experienced midwives and receive mentorship and tautoko (support).
