Overview
About us :
Busy Bees Waitara is a mixed-age space for tamariki 2 years to school age. We lean into tuakana–teina relationships, where younger children learn alongside older, more confident peers. Our programme is play-based and unrushed so tamariki have time and space to explore, test ideas, and make sense of the world. As a whānau, we walk beside each child, inviting them to help shape the day. Tamariki contribute to the curriculum, choose set-ups, share ideas, and co-create an environment that’s curious, challenging, and alive with discovery.
Growing young minds here looks like wonder and hands-on learning : nature walks, water and messy play, science tinkering, art, construction, baking and cooking, a bike track with bikes for different ages, a huge sandpit, and climbing galore. We nurture literacy, numeracy, emotional development, confidence, and social skills through real experiences, gentle guidance, and strong relationships.
