Support Workers (4x Positions)- Part-time
We are seeking four dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our vibrant organisation. At Community Connections, we do things collectively, guided by our strong values and deep passion for empowering people with disabilities to live the lives they choose.
About Us
Community Connections is a values-driven disability support provider working across the North Island. Our vision is an inclusive Aotearoa, where disabled people are respected, supported, and free to live life on their own terms, within the community they choose.
We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunities employer, committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the New Zealand Disability Strategy. We warmly welcome applicants from all backgrounds, especially those with lived experience of disability or mental health, Māori, Pasifika, and LGBTQIA+ communities.
The Roles
You’ll be part of a supportive team providing 24 / 7 residential care across a variety of services. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real difference—helping people develop independence, grow essential life skills, and live meaningful lives in a way that reflects their choices.
Your work will include supporting daily routines, encouraging skill-building, and promoting independence in safe, structured, and person-led environments. We have a range of shifts available, and we ask that you include in your cover letter any hours you are unable to work. These roles require flexibility, including the ability to work weekends and evenings.
About You
To thrive in this role, you will bring a caring nature and ideally some experience in providing personal care. Strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to engage positively with others will be essential, as will good time management and calm, creative problem-solving.
Experience supporting people with disabilities, particularly those with complex needs, autism, or challenging behaviours, will be an advantage. An understanding of structured environments and sensory needs will further enable you to create safe, empowering spaces.
You’ll need to be comfortable following established routines while staying adaptable to changing needs. Resilience, humour, and a genuine passion for helping others achieve their goals are key.
