Junior Legal Counsel

Your Day-to-day

As Legal Counsel at Lotto NZ, you’ll be at the heart of a purpose-driven organisation that gives back to New Zealand communities. Your role will be dynamic and varied, supporting the business with commercially focused legal advice that enables strategic delivery while ensuring compliance and minimising risk. You’ll :

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and assist the business in managing the contract lifecycle.
• Draft and advise on promotions, terms and conditions and review marketing materials to ensure compliance with consumer laws.
• Support understanding and compliance with key legislation including the Gambling Act and Crown Entities Act.
• Provide legal input into privacy processes, customer queries, and harm minimisation initiatives.
• Advise on procurement activities in line with government procurement rules.
• Help manage Lotto NZ’s intellectual property and support the retail network with legal guidance.
• Deliver legal training and support sessions, establish and maintain contract templates, and contribute to continuous improvement across legal and procurement practices.
