OverviewPrimary and intermediate (Years 1–8) / kura tuatahi, Certificated teacherSubjects taught : English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The artsWe are seeking passionate and collaborative kaiako to join our teaching team at Island Bay School.The successful applicants will play a key role in providing high-quality teaching and learning, while contributing to our shared school goals and growing the unique culture of our kura.

Positions may be in either the Junior or Senior School, depending on the strengths and experience of the successful candidates.At Island Bay School, we teach through The Island Bay Way – an inquiry-based approach enriched by Ako Takaro.

We are looking for teachers who can embrace this approach, bringing creativity, strong pedagogical practice, and a commitment to collaboration.

Skills in delivering the core curriculum are an advantage, particularly if trained in BSLA (Better Start Literacy Approach).

A commitment to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and developing culturally sustaining practices is essential.
