We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced teacher and leader who has the passion and expertise to make a difference in the lives of our learners with additional needs through the position of SENCo at Hingaia Peninsula School.

Qualification and / or expertise / experience working with neurodiverse students.
Confidence and pedagogical knowledge to support teachers with strategies and ideas to enhance teacher practice and to support our students to best meet their specific needs within our ILE spaces.
Key tasks include :
Working collaboratively, to build and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, parents and whanau and other support providers to support all of our students to succeed and achieve.
Enhance student learning - collaboratively design and implement effective programmes for individual students with special learning and behavioural needs and conduct IEPs (individual learning plans) with all stakeholders.
Facilitate the successful transition of students both into, through and beyond our school.
Support teaching teams with timely professional learning - the effective strategies and tools to ensure all students with additional needs are well supported and able to achieve in an inclusive environment.
Coordinate and / or assist with the preparation, delivery and evaluation of programmes for all students with our learning assistants / teaching teams.
Embed procedures and processes to oversee learning needs throughout the school and allocate resources to best meet the needs of our students.
