A leading company across structural steel construction design, fabrication, and erection in residential, commercial, and industrial builds.

With a reputation and commitment to on-time delivery of high-quality work, they are looking for an experienced rigger / welder to take on the role of a second site supervisor as we continue to experience rapid growth in our business.

You will have a good understanding of health and safety procedures and have a strong health and safety focus.

The Role

Understand and interpret technical design + layout drawings

Erecting structural steel and metalwork items on a range of construction sites

Organise Transport of members to site

Organise Craneage for sites

Manage + Record Variations

Complete required Health & Safety documentation for sites

Organise staff on sites - teams of 2-3 people

Fabrication + Welding if / when required.

Be the single point of contact for the client during the installation phase.

Ensure Arcwell methodology is followed by staff and subcontractors.

Solve problems if and when the arise.

Key Requirements

The ability to read and understand technical drawings to breakdown manufacturing and erection into sequences and timelines.

Previous structural steel erecting experience

Ability to work in a team and independently

Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Rigging / Slinging experience

NZ Driver's License with Class 2 Endorsement or higher.

IT Literate

Beneficial Requirements

Knowledge of Engineering standards such as AS / NZS 1554.1, AS / NZ 5131 & ISO 9606

5+ Years of industry experience

Forklift, EWP, Height Training Qualifications

Current Site Safe Passport

Energetic and fast thinking

Applicants must be NZ Residents or hold a valid NZ work visa.

Applicants will be required to pass a drug test prior to employment commencing.

Hours :

Typically, 45 hours per week.

Standard hours are 7 : 00am – 4 : 30pm.

Some overtime may be required on occasion.
