Safety & Risk Advisor (Co-ordinator)Published : 12 / 08 / 2025Job Location : Kensington / Whangarei / New Zealand Job Type : Permanent Work Type : Part Time Category : HR & Recruitment We're looking for a hands-on and proactive Safety and Risk Advisor (Co-ordinator) to help strengthen non-clinical operational risk management and health & safety practices across Kensington Hospital.This newly established part-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, is confident working across teams, and is passionate about building and supporting a strong culture of safety and operational risk management capability.Whether you're returning to the workforce, balancing other lifestyle commitments, or looking to scale back into meaningful part-time work — this role offers genuine flexibility, purpose, and impact.You'll work closely with clinical and non-clinical teams, supporting compliance, improving incident and risk reporting systems, and driving continuous improvement in health and safety processes.Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and manage the operational risk register, and support trend analysis
• Assist with audit preparation and compliance monitoring (e.g. HSWA 2015, emergency readiness, etc)
• Improve incident reporting practices and support investigations
• Review and support contractor safety and facilities compliance
• Provide coaching and advice to leaders and teams on risk assessments and safety protocols
• Support the Health & Safety Committee and internal communications related to operational riskWhat We're Looking For
• A practical understanding of operational health & safety and risk management
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and industry standards (e.g. HSWA 2015)
• Experience working in a regulated environment (ie healthcare or similar)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you're a natural coach and collaborator
• Self-managing and organised, with a solutions-focused approach
• A relevant qualification in health & safety or operational risk (preferred)You don't tick every box in the Job Description?
