Visit to learn more about us.Wenita has an exciting opportunity for the right person to use their education and experience to contribute to the Technical Team.Based in Dunedin, the Technical and Environmental Forester role is responsible for wide range of duties, which include : Forest Valuations & Modelling : Contribute to forest valuations, harvest scheduling, yield regulation, and regime analysis.Research & Development : Participate in leading forest research management and new research initiatives.Inventory Planning : Plan and manage forest inventory programmes for PHI, MRI, pre-assessment, and post-treatment assessment.Data Collection, Planning & Reporting : Collect, analyse, and report on forest measurement and operational data.
Plan and manage work programmes and present findings.Environmental Management & Compliance : Maintain and update the Environmental Management System, ensure compliance with forestry industry regulations, health and safety, and lead environmental audits and incident investigations.Stakeholder Engagement : Work closely with contractors, staff, and external stakeholders to implement environmental policies and ensure successful outcomes.We're looking for someone who enjoys working in the forestry industry, values collaboration, and builds productive working relationships.Desired Skills and ExperienceRequirementsTertiary qualification in Forestry Science, Planning, Agriculture, Resource Management, or a related field.At least 2–3 years' experience in a similar role (forestry or agricultural environment).
Advanced computing skills, including GIS and forest modelling software (VBA coding desirable).
Experience with Survey123 and Field Maps is preferred.Strong communication, analytical, and reporting skills.Knowledge of compliance and environmental issues in forestry.Ability to plan, manage, and adapt work programmes.Wenita is offering a competitive salary and benefits package for the right person to join our team.
