Role : Teacher-in-charge of physics. Full time, Permanent. Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura. Certificated teacher. Science.

We are seeking an experienced physics and science teacher to join our team from the beginning of the 2026 academic year. They will be experienced in teaching physics and science and able to lead and develop an established physics team as well as support the science department and work collaboratively. They need to be familiar with current NCEA and assessment requirements and flexible to meet the changing assessment, curriculum and qualification requirements.

Palmerston North Girls’ High School is the only state girls’ secondary school in the Manawatū. We have outstanding NCEA results and work within a Culturally Responsive and Relational Framework. Our staff provide high quality education with a strong focus on valued educational outcomes for young women.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the established physics team; provide oversight of physics teaching and support and development of teachers of physics.
• Support the science department and work collaboratively within the科 science faculty and broader school context.
• Contribute to the ongoing assessment, curriculum and qualification requirements in line with NCEA.
• Play an active role in the co-curricular and professional life of the school.
