Overview
Construction Steel Rigger / Welder
We are looking for an experienced Structural Steel Rigger / Welder to join our dynamic team.
This role involves the assembly and installation of structural steel components for a variety of construction projects, including commercial buildings.
The ideal candidate will have expertise in both rigging and welding, with a solid understanding of safety standards and regulations.
Responsibilities
Interpret construction drawings and blueprints to plan and assemble steel structures.
Operate cranes and heavy equipment to position steel components, using rigging tools such as cables, slings, and hooks.
Perform welding tasks using MIG and stick welding to securely join steel components.
Use cutting torches and related equipment to cut and shape steel as needed for the project.
Conduct quality checks to ensure welds and connections meet safety and industry standards.
Comply with all safety regulations and protocols, including proper personal protective equipment (PPE) usage.
Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure timely project completion within scope and budget.
Work on sites throughout Auckland.
Qualifications
EWP Certification or Rigging & Slinging Certification is a plus.
Strong hand-eye coordination with the ability to problem-solve in high-pressure situations.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Flexibility to work irregular hours or overtime as required by the project.
Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
Work up to 45 hours a week on sites throughout Auckland.
