Youth Settlement volunteers provide help to Settlement Youth Workers for events that support refugee background young people in their settlement journey.
These events provide vital opportunities for refugee background young people to build connections with others in their communities.
Events may include workshops, sharing kai and sports days.
Youth Settlement volunteers empower rangatahi, provide safe environments and help create spaces where young people can thrive. As a Youth Settlement volunteer, you may also be supporting the young people to navigate everyday challenges and adapt to life in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Volunteers commit to support at least two events a term for two terms or more.
"Volunteers need to be available to attend the two days of the training to meet the requirements for becoming a Refugee Support Volunteer.
If, however, they cannot attend both days then we run face-to-face or online catch-up sessions when volunteers can make up a session time.
Please don't let this stop anyone from signing up for training. For more information, contact
