(We offer a range of employment opportunities, including part-time, and full-time positions, which will be discussed further during the recruitment process)Job Location : Palmerston North and nearby regions.Days of Work : As this is community-based work, rotating rosters would be involved including am, pm and weekend work.The duration of these hours may vary, ranging from shorter to longer periods, depending on the specific needs of the people we support.Responsibilities : Working closely with our Service Users to provide support as they go about their daily tasksAssisting with complexpersonal caresAssisting with household management and meal preparationSupporting exercise programmesAssisting with accessing the communityBowel, Bladder, and Catheter CareMoving and handling hoists and manual transfersMedication supportSupport the Service Users in achieving positive goals in their lives and contribute to the effective day-to-day running of the servicesMaintaining the Service User's safety and well-being.About You | He MomoYou are a calm and confident individual who demonstrates resilience and empathy, with a strong understanding of the challenges our service users may face.

The greatest reward comes from being part of the support that enables a person to live their best life in the community.What We're Looking For : Experience supporting people with autism, intellectual disabilities, or challenging behaviours is a plusPatience, compassion, and strong interpersonal skillsAbility to work under pressure and adapt to flexible schedulesA genuine passion for helping othersA supportive mindset to help our Service Users achieve their goals for independent living in the communityIdeally prior personal care experience is preferredFamiliarity with complex medical conditions, like spinal injuries, traumatic brain injuryA Level 3 or Level 4 Health and Wellbeing qualification is beneficial and those looking to enter the healthcare sector will also be considered (comprehensive training can be provided)Access to your own car and ability to drive independently ( a Full New Zealand Driver's License is a must)Flexibility to work on a rotating rosterLegal right to work in New Zealand is a must.Benefits | Ki te huangaPay Band : $24.13 - $30.78 per hour (This is based on the Pay Equity Settlement 2017 – hourly pay rates based on equivalency of Healthcare Qualifications assessed under Pay Equity).
