Overview
The Timaru District Council is seeking one Gardening Leading Hand to join our newly created in-house team.
This is an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for the upkeep of the Council's gardens, parks, landscapes, and other green spaces.
You will report to the Horticulture Supervisor, coordinate and direct the team in the field while actively participating in horticulture-related work yourself.
Your leadership and hands-on approach will ensure that the greenspaces across the Timaru District remain beautiful and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
Coordinate and direct the team's efforts in the field while actively participating in horticulture-related work.
Oversee the upkeep of the Council's gardens, parks, landscapes, and other green spaces.
Lead by example with a hands-on approach to horticulture.
Qualifications
Proven experience in horticulture, landscaping, or a related field with knowledge of horticultural techniques, tools, and equipment.
Ability to coordinate a team and lead by example; experience in a similar gardening team role is desired.
Details
Permanent role, 40 hours per week.
Weekend work on a rostered basis.
Annual salary range : $68,362 – $80,426 per annum.
