Job Description
Reporting to the Reliability Manager, the Kaituki Whakawhirinaki Reliability Team Lead manages a team of reliability specialists and oversees the performance of energy‑solutions assets across Australia and New Zealand, including EV charging, solar installations and battery energy storage systems (BESS). The role ensures safe and reliable operation through effective monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance, with a strong focus on safety and contractor management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of Reliability Specialists to deliver key performance metrics, including safety, uptime, and asset availability.
- Oversee the development and execution of maintenance plans, ensuring safe and timely completion and continuous improvement of monitoring processes.
- Manage OPEX budgets for preventative and reactive maintenance, forecasting spend and identifying cost‑saving opportunities.
- Resolve system outages and incident investigations, ensuring effective fault identification and resolution to minimise downtime.
- Manage contractor relationships through governance meetings, audits, compliance verification, and performance reporting to ensure safety and operational excellence.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Risk & Safety, Engineering, and Quality Assurance, to strengthen asset management strategies and reliability performance.
- Work with Public and Private Network teams to ensure excellent customer experience across all Ampol and customer fleets.
- Analyse data to monitor asset and contractor performance, support firmware updates, and drive continuous improvement across the Energy Solutions fleet.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage contractors effectively while driving a culture of safety and accountability.Proven experience in reliability and planning roles, preferably involving distributed energy assets such as EV chargers, solar systems, or BESS.Skilled in using Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), with SAP experience preferred.Strong diagnostic and fault‑finding capabilities across electrical assets, with hands‑on knowledge of maintenance and repair practices.Electrical / instrumentation trade qualifications and / or tertiary qualifications in electrical engineering or related fields preferred.Benefits

Base salary range : $131,400 – $154,600 per annum, plus 15% STI based on company and individual performance, 5% KiwiSaver employer contribution and health insurance through Southern Cross.
