- Reading and breaking down scripts, writing a solid synopsis, offering your creative opinion, and identifying scenes that need or could benefit from music.
- Writing briefs and creating playlists
- Coordinating from start to finish and negotiating and tracking music licensing-experience is helpful but not mandatory; being thorough, organised, and ready to learn is essential.
- Managing music assets using DISCO (experience preferred, but training provided) and working entirely in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).
- Coordinating calls, meetings, travel bookings, and music-department logistics between NZ and LA - expect plenty of Zooms!
- Doing a hell of a lot of scheduling in different time zones
- Assisting with cue tracking, documentation, creating budgets and general admin support.
- Being present at recording sessions, meetings with directors and producers (and occasionally on set).
- Helping coordinate SYNCPOSIUM 2026 -guest and speaker relations, travel, panels, workshops, and event logistics.
- Often joining working lunches (we’ll shout those).
- Some weeks could be 25 hours; some maybe more than 40 and the week leading up to and during the conference may include some 12-hour days (balanced with dinners and cool activities.)
- You’ll be working with well-known talent, excitement is good; fanning out is not permitted. Confidentiality is everything, you’ll be asked to sign a strict NDA.
