Part time, Fixed term, FTTE up to : 0.5, Start Date : 02 / 02 / 2026, End Date : 11 / 12 / 2026 (Dependent on Ministry funding)
Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacher
The arts
To commence Monday 2 February and finishing on Friday 11 December 2026.
The positions are term time only and fixed term as they are dependent on funding from the Ministry of Education (dependent on the number of students enrolled).
Hours vary depending on demand and funding, but are generally between 0.2FTTE and 0.48FTTE, depending on the instrument taught. Please state your area of expertise and secondary instrument.
We are a culturally vibrant kura currently experiencing roll growth, with high demand in pop / rock instruments and vocal groups across the cultural spectrum.
Successful applicants will be dynamic, motivated, punctual and reliable and have a passion for working with young people to improve outcomes and ensure they reach their full potential. You will have strong cultural competency to be relevant to Māori and Pasifika students. Some knowledge of Te Reo Māori would be an advantage but is not a prerequisite for a position.
You will have skills and experience teaching a wide range of styles, a good understanding of the music curriculum and the ability to assist with NCEA performance preparation and assessment.
Previous experience in a low equity index school or similar environment is highly desirable.
